The Amazon Rainforest has been described as the “Lungs of our Planet” because it provides the essential environmental world service of continuously recycling carbon dioxide into oxygen. The Peruvian Amazon is considered to be one of the best preserved parts of the Rainforest, and its location in the tropics makes it particularly biodiverse, holding over 70% of the living species of the planet. It is a botanical emporium of countless medicinal plants that may hold the possibility to cure many diseases.

It’s a wild symphony of day and night; the sound, the nature, the mystery, the depth and magic of the jungle, makes it the perfect place for healing and recovery of the natural balance sometimes lost in the modern world lifestyle.

the shamanic diet

In the shamanic tradition of the Amazon, the shaman learns and collects his wisdom directly from the spirit of the plants, going through a very restrict diet by drinking preparations made of this medicinal plants and eating only certain foods.

The term plant dieta refers to this ancient process, when one dives into the rainforest in deep contemplation to become a healer, a shaman, to gain vision and become a better human being. The other reason one does “la dieta” is the focus on the physical, psychological and emotional healing; to re-balance the body, mind and spirit or to overcome illness.

You will participate in five traditional Ayahuasca healing ceremonies along with the plant dieta, as shamans and spiritual seekers have undertaken in complete isolation in the jungle for specific periods of time. During this period, the spirit of the plants you are drinking may reveal itself, in order to teach and heal.

Dieting with plants opens the consciousness of each one of us, stimulates personal growth and spiritual awakening. It clarifies the mind, inspires lucid dreaming, facilitates meditation and unlocks intuition, unveiling the immense spiritual world and wisdom.

It’s a rare opportunity to connect deeper to the plant spirit medicine that will guide you into a deeper connection with your soul.

read more about the shamanic diet

Each one of us will be staying isolated and in silence in our own tamboo (a very simple wooden hut) with very little contact with others during this period. All the tamboos are spread out along the beautiful river, where you can swim. Everyday the staff will give you waiusa leaves, for you to wash and bath yourself with it (this leaves have a wonderful fragrance)

In the diet, we will be eating food with no sugar, salt or spices: rice, quinoa, green plantains and sometimes fish or chicken will be served (unless you are a vegetarian). Without salt or sugar, one becomes very sensitive. Due to the increased sensitivity we won´t use anything chemical or with smell such as shampoo, deodorant, perfume, body lotions or toothpaste.

For you to gather the greatest benefits of this plant dieta, the invitation is to be in silence and by yourself as much as possible. We will gather every other day in the Maloca (common temple where the Ayahuasca ceremonies are held), to take part of five Ayahuasca Ceremonies (four will be at night and the last one in the morning).

Before ceremonies is usually the time where Don José Campos teaches and shares about different subjects related to this work, and it’s also an opportunity for you to share your experience and ask questions.

INamazonia and Munay Camp staff will be there available and open to support you in whatever you may need.
